Is the 2025 Chevy Corvette ZR1 the fastest Corvette ever built?

Published on Aug 10, 2024 by Titus-Will Creative Team

Perhaps the most iconic and recognizable vehicle in the country, if not the world, the Chevy Corvette has been around for just over seven decades. That’s 70 years of experience under its belt, and 70 years of absolutely incredible sports cars. But with all of those iterations through the years, which one is the fastest Corvette ever built? Well, that’s the exciting news we’re here to discuss, the 2025 Chevy Corvette ZR1 is without a doubt the fastest Corvette ever built! We’ll dive into the details that have been released regarding the newest entry into the stable of Corvette models available.

“The team that revolutionized [the] Corvette with a mid-engine architecture took on another challenge: take ZR1 to the next level. Corvette ZR1 is about pushing the envelope with raw power and cutting-edge innovation. From Stingray, to Z06, E-Ray, and now ZR1, the Corvette family continues to elevate with each new iteration — and challenge the best in the world.”

2025 Corvette ZR1 Performance Specifications

The newest iteration and variant of the Chevy Corvette is powered by an engine that the company has named the LT7. The powertrain includes a 5.5L twin-turbocharged DOHC flat-plane crank V8 engine tethered to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. It’s capable of generating up to 1,064 horsepower alongside 828 pound-feet of torque, which is not only the most power ever found in a factory Corvette, but it’s the most powerful V8 engine ever produced by an official automaker in America!

But we said it was the fastest ever built, not the most powerful. So how does all that mind-blowing power translate to speed? Well, the ZR1 will be capable of hitting a top speed in excess of 215 miles per hour if taken on the track, and can even run a quarter-mile in less than 10 seconds. How’s that for fast? Naturally, speed isn’t the only thing that the Corvette has to offer, so let’s dive into some of the broader highlights of the vehicle’s specs & features as well.
