The GMC Sierra is always in the conversation when it comes to the most popular pickup truck models on the market. The full-size, light-duty pickup truck has been on the market since 1986, meaning it has nearly four decades of experience on the GMC lineup. Constantly reinventing itself, GMC now has premium luxury, off-road and even electric versions of the Sierra 1500. So, we thought we’d not only highlight the updated specs and features found in the pickup truck this year, but also dive into all of the different available models so you know exactly what options you have when shopping in the segment.
We’ll dive into the truck’s technical specifications and give you several highlights on the different features and technologies that come standard or are available, but first we wanted to give special attention to what’s new for the 2024 model year. For starters, the 3.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel powertrain is now standard on the AT4X trim level. Active exhaust is a feature that’s now available on the Denali, Denali Ultimate, AT4, AT4X and SLT trim levels. There are two additional premium aluminum wheel options and two new premium exterior color options (Downpour Metallic and Thunderstorm Gray). Finally, the 2.7L Turbo High-Output Engine will now be called TurboMax and it will feature a Powertrain Warranty of five years or 100,000 miles.
The 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 is available in many different trim levels and configurations, so we wanted to list all of these different options to give you an idea of the choices you have.
